Is it better to buy or hire a piano? It is an individual decision. If your child is just starting and you are not sure if they will continue then maybe it is better to hire for a few month to make sure they show enough interest. Once they do you can return the hired piano and buy a piano for your child You are welcome to hire here: https://www.pianobeats.co.uk/piano-hire-1

Do I need a piano before I sign up for lessons?Ideally the student should have a piano from the first lesson. This will allow a student to practice at home creating momentum and excitement about lessons. It will also add confidence in their playing and the way they feel about playing the piano and lessons. You can hire a small keyboard or a digital piano here: https://www.pianobeats.co.uk/piano-hire-1

Which piano is better: acoustic or digital?THE KEY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACOUSTIC AND DIGITAL Tuning: Acoustic pianos need tuning on a regular basis as well as general maintenance and restringing. Digital pianos don’t require tuning. Space: Acoustic pianos are larger than digital pianos and need much more space to get the optimum sound. Portability: digital pianos generally weigh less and can be moved around and transported with little hassle. Technology: digital pianos incorporate features that allow for experimentation in playing, can be motivational to practice and lets players explore composition and recording Versatility: an acoustic piano offers just one sound; a digital piano gives you a broad choice of pianos and other instruments good quality acoustic pianos are considerably more expensive it is better to buy good quality digital piano rather than a tired acoustic piano which will not keep the tuning
